Toppan Forms has developed a line of inexpensive and compact/thin NFC modules based on its own original module and antennae designs. The company’s NFC modules, with four major features, namely Card Emulation, Read/Write Emulation, Terminal-to-terminal Communication and Terminal-to-terminal Pairing (Handover) are the first of its kind ever realized in the world (verified by the company as of May 2007).
There are three types of NFC Modules based on usage that have been prepared by Toppan Forms.
Used as an after-installation option in personal computers, printers, medical treatment devices fitted with USB ports. This type does not only provide port-to-port communication but also functions as a Smart card (FeliCa™/Mifare®) reader/writer that can be used in place of existing Smart card reader/writer devices. This type is available as a stick type USB memory or as a desk top device.
Used as an additional option in mobile phones and smart phones fitted with miniSD slot. It comes as a card type of the same size as miniSD card fitted on a SD I/O. It can also be used as a handy type reader / writer when fitted to mobile phones.
A built in module that can be fitted on an electronic device circuit board. Being very compact, it can be fitted on devices such as mobile phones and digital cameras designed mainly for portability.

Software to allow easy use of the NFC modules is also available. A middleware that incorporates reader/writer, Bluetooth/WiFi handover functions in addition to its basic function as driver stack is available. Further, we accept customization and application development for users.
