The use of NFC fitted handset in mobile credit was tested in New York in the United States. The handset used was Nokia6136. The targets of the demonstration test were holders of Citibank credit card who are also enrolled in Cingular Wireless. Further, handset was also equipped with smart poster service and was able to download digital contents from the Cingular network.

The use of NFC fitted handset in mobile accounts settlement was tested in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The handset used was Nokia3220 and relayed to a monitor. Mobile J/Speedy, the payment application of JCB, was pre-installed on the handset. The development of the application was done by Gemalto while the NFC reader/writer manufactured by ViVotech was used for the NFC reader/writer.

Several demonstration tests were conducted in Caen, France. One test involved the mounting of NFC contactless payment terminals at supermarkets to realize cashless settlement of accounts. Another test involved the use of NFC supported terminal in a parking system where an automatic settlement of virtual tickets was made possible. Still another test used an NFC fitted handset with smart poster system installed where placing the handset over a cinema poster in the movie theater downloads cinema information on the mobile phone. Samsung D500 was used for the NFC fitted handset.

The use of NFC fitted handset in ticketing and payment was tested in Taipei, Taiwan. A mobile phone made by BenQ was available for not only transportation ticketing system but also for mobile payments in retail outlets and banks.

A demonstration test on bus ticketing system for RMV (Rhein-Main Verkehrsverbund) was conducted in Germany. RMV application was downloaded on Nokia3220 and relayed to the monitor. RMV had been employing a bus system where Mifare® card called "Get In", was used for bus fare payments since the year 2001.
